Course overview

TIV’s CPC30220 – Certificate III in Carpentry Course is known as one of the best in the industry. It’s a hands-on program designed for people who want to begin a career as a carpenter without doing an apprenticeship.

This course comprises individual and group Carpentry activities undertaken at TIV’s simulated construction sites and in interactive classes. You will develop your professional Carpentry skills to perform, observe analyse and evaluate building operations as if you were running the Carpentry component of the build.

Duration study load

  • 3 face to face classes per week (7:00 am – 3:00 pm) on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • The total timetabled sessions including holiday and study breaks is 64 weeks
  • Plus 1 additional week of student support if required

Entry requirements

  • You are eighteen (18) years or older.
  • You can read, write and speak English competently.
  • Completion of Year 10 or higher.

TIV will supply:

  • Electronic copies of relevant Building Codes, Standards, Manuals, Learner Guides, Plans and Specifications
  • Each student also receives a resources package valued at $500, including:
    • Safety boots
    • Hat

    • Tool kit bag including hammer and saw
    • Textbooks
